I grew up on advertising. My father spent over 40 years in “the business” starting off as an art director then becoming an agency creative director, account executive and finally opening his own agency. Dinner table conversations often revolved around business and clever advertising. A favorite of his was a billboard campaign for a moving company with a picture of the statue of Venus missing her arms. The tagline was, “If we had moved her, she would still have them!”
Following college with a B.A in Business Communications and Religion, I held a number of less than inspiring sales jobs until I landed a sales position with Industrial Equipment News, a Thomas Publishing magazine. At IEN, the ad business finally got a hold of me. During my years with IEN, I called on hundreds of manufacturing companies, marketing and sales executives, and ad agencies in the Midwest. A common frustration and gripe was, “We generate all these leads, but we don’t have a good way to follow-up, track or measure results!”
I had always wanted to start my own business, and it didn’t take long to figure out that herein was the opportunity. After researching computer systems and raising $20,000 from family and business associates, Ultimate Lead Systems was born in 1983 with one client (who remains today). Ultimate Lead Systems grew over the years and evolved into an innovative company providing a hosted, customizable CRM and Sales Lead Management systems and services to companies nationwide from the small to Fortune 100.
Today, ULS is recognized as an innovative provider of easy-to-use and customizable CRM and lead management applications and support services. Our goal is to help B2B marketers improve their sales and marketing performance and increase the bottom-line.
